PERIOPERATIVE TRANSESOPHAGEAL ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (TEE)
Free
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This activity was designed for performance by providing the knowledge to adopt Basic TEE in clinical practice and care of patients in anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
The Perioperative TEE program focuses on the basic hemodynamic state, ventricular function and valve pathology, which has been categorized into those that are likely to cause hemodynamic compromise or those that may not.
- Basics of TEE examination
- Equipment handling
- TEE usage
- TEE monitorisation
- TEE imaging principles
- Probe positions and orientation
- Comprehensive assessment of LV function
- Anatomy of the Heart Valves
- Wall motion assessment
- Assessment of the RV
- Provide Cardiovascular Anesthesia
- Contraindications to the use of TEE
- Anatomy of the Heart and Coronary Arteries
- Normal hemodynamics, fluid dynamics, and blood flow velocity profiles as measured by Doppler echocardiography, including pulsed-wave and continuous-wave Doppler
- Principal echocardiographic manifestations of cardiac masses, thrombi, and emboli; cardiomyopathies; pericardial effusions and tamponade; lesions of great vessels
- Physiology and echocardiographic presentation of air embolization
